If the stars mentioned in the original Real Live Real Ghostbusters turn out to be unavailable, understudies must be considered.  I've gotten several suggestions for other live versions of the boyz & the gal...

For Dr. Egon Spengler

As Harold Raimis might be tired of playing everyone's favorite mad scientist, here's several actors fresh to the role:

David Yost, a.k.a. 'Billy' of Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers, er, fame.  Well, he's fluent in technobabble...
Andy Dick (Matthew on NewsRadio) Possibly...
A bunch of people pointed him out - Malcolm Gets from Carolyn in the City.  Don't watch the show, but he's got the look - glasses, hair, the works!

For Dr. Peter Venkman

Nicholas Brendon is a little young yet, so while he grows up we can entertain other possibilities:

Mel Gibson...perhaps too old, and could green contacts really cover those baby blues...but would I pass up an image of Mel?
Christian Slater - an evil Dr. V.?  "Hey guys, check out my Jack Nicholson impersonation - heeere's Johnny!"
Kevin Bacon...hmmm...
My own pick - Laguna Loire of Final Fantasy VIII.  One problem, he'd need a haircut.  2nd problem, he's also animated...

For Janine Melnitz

Can Shania Twain actually act?  Just in case...roll call for smart, snappy, short redheads:

Gillian Anderson...now, who wants to teach Agent Scully how to smile?
Nana Visitor - since Deep Space Nine is wrapped up, why not?
Joan Cusack - she made a most excellente secretary in Grosse Point Blank!
Bernadette Peters, if lured from Broadway, could pull off the attitude...though could Peter deal with a singing Janine?

Folks seem to agree on the picks for Ray and Winston...but do you have other ideas?
